eTwinning is no longer exclusive to Europe! Now countries in Europe's immediate neighbourhood have the opportunity to participate as well through eTwinning Plus.
"Why involve more countries in eTwinning?
eTwinning Plus supports 'contacts between people', one of the core objectives of the Neighbourhood policy. eTwinning has shown that contact between schools and teachers in Europe is incredibly beneficial to the people involved - education is a key building-block in our society and contact with people in Europe's immediate neighbourhood with help us develop intercultural understanding and friendships. We hope that this, in turn, will engender mutual respect and provide stability, right across the European neighbourhood, as we shape the 21st century."
Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Moldova, Tunisia, and the Ukraine are the countries that will be included in eTwinning Plus. Students and teachers in these countries will now be able to contribute to this safe, online environment by exchanging with partner schools from all across Europe. This will give them the chance to deepen their relationships with EU countries.
