eTwinning European Quality Label

The Central Support Service (CSS) has just announced schools that have been awarded their European Quality label.

In order to recognise the outstanding work of eTwinning projects across Europe, the European Quality Label was launched in 2006. The fourth round of schools has now been finalised and schools will receive their labels soon.

We - the UK NSS evaluate and award the National Quality Labels. When at least two schools in a project have received a National Quality Label by their respective NSS, they then receive the European Quality Label from the Central Support Service (CSS) based in Brussels.

This unique label denotes that the work of teachers, students and schools has been recognised at the highest European level. These teachers and their projects become exemplars to others in regards to what is possible to achieve within the eTwinning Action.

Kiki Haines and the 'Eastbourne 8' (year 9 pupils) were runners up in the 2008 European eTwinning Awards for their project Draw me the Task.  This project has since won the 'Collaboration' prize in the Northern Grid for Learning 2008 Education/ICT Awards!  Find out more here

AlterEgo Competition

The AlterEgo competition is currently running for participants born between the years of 1990-1994.  It is the perfect opportunity for those who are interested in art and would like to create an alterego from a different cultural background with the chance of winning a weeks art workshop in Denmark!  Shortlisted entries can also become part of an exhibition touring throughout Europe!

eTwinning Art Compition winners

We had some wonderful art work submitted for this comeptition - well done to you all. Our independant Judges have picked the following winners; the comments are mead by the submitting teachers themselves.

Age 3-6 First Prize: Lent Rise school - Infant Department

This is one project called Putting the World into World Class education. We have 14 classes ETwinned with 13 EU nations and through these collages we celebrate all that we have learned with and from the children of all these nations this year and we submit the whole as our offering for the competition!!!The artwork is now displayed outside every classroom in the school so that each class can showcase the year appropriately.    

 

Age 3-6 Runners Up: BOWHOUSE PRIMARY SCHOOL

The children talked about their friends far away, then made their illustrations. They wanted flags up above, like we have in nursery.

Age 7-10 First Prize: Adel Primary School

Our trip to Malaga has inspired our designs
