Backworth Park Primary school

Backworthimage_copyCongratulations to Backworth Park Primary school, whose eTwinning project has been judged as the winner for the North East region in the Made IT Happen competition.

Susie Arnott and Sue Burgon, the ICT Advisory Teacher and Deputy Headteacher, submitted details of their school’s project with CEIP Virexe da Luz in Northern Spain and will now be invited, along with up to six students, to come and receive a prize of £1,000 at the Made IT Happen Awards Ceremony at the House of Commons on Monday 15th October.

eLearning Awards

Elearning_awards_copyFor the seventh consecutive year, European Schoolnet is organising the eLearning Awards competition. The aim of the competition is to promote the use of ICT in education and to encourage schools to collaborate.


The 2007 awards are open to primary and secondary schools in Europe that are using technology to create schools fit for 21st century learners. Read more about the categories and find out how to submit your application on the awards website before the 31 October deadline.

The Link2Learn Awards 2007

Link2learn200_copyThe Link2Learn Awards 2007 aim to recognise and reward schools, individual International Co-ordinators and Local Authorities for their work in forming and sustaining international school partnerships.

WHO CAN ENTER?

  • UK-based primary, secondary and special schools which have worked with a school in another country for at least 16 months
  • UK-based International Co-ordinators who have been in post and worked with a school in another country for at least 16 months
  • UK Local Authorities which have at least 10% of their schools working towards the International School Award

Entrants are required to submit a series of brief descriptions of their international school partnership work, supported by evidence such as teaching resources and materials produced by students.

There are prizes of up to £5000 each for primary, secondary and special schools. Individual International Co-ordinators can win £2500 and Local Authorities £3000. The winners will receive their prizes at a prestigious awards ceremony in London.
